Setting Up An Online Survey

Anyone who has been on the Internet lately knows that one of the biggest trends in web design is the use of online surveys. Online surveys provide easy content for web masters, can help compliment articles and products on a web page, and is another way of diversifying web content. However, those new to using online surveys may have questions about how to set up an online survey or what to include in their new content tool. There are a few simple tips that will make the online survey process more effective for your business or blog.

The first consideration in making online surveys is to make sure those questions and answers are concise. There is nothing that drives away viewers and customers than a product description or online survey that takes too much time to read. Editing down questions to a simple, one sentence request without too much flowery language will go a long way toward keeping your viewers’ attention. The answer section should include one to three word responses that are easy enough to glance over and make a quick response. Your online survey should be easy enough to use that a customer can use it in a few seconds.

The other important consideration in setting up an online survey is to make sure that the online surveys are obvious on the web page. Some web design programs allow you to have the online survey as a pop up when a viewer enters a certain section of the web site. If your web design program does not allow pop ups, using a noticeable font or placing it prominently in the desired section of the website should do the trick.
